Dubai Metro to serve The Greens & Tecom Area

Dubai Internet City Metro Station, earlier known as the Tecom station, will serve huge residential and commercial communities in The Greens and Tecom area.
The station is located right in front of the Desert Spring Village - one of Dubai's oldest villa complexes built in the 1970s, which has not yet been affected by the fast development around it.
The station will mainly serve The Greens, a huge residential area mostly occupied by medium and high income European expatriates. The area is built along modern lines with huge green spaces and is known for its comfortable and upmarket living.
Residents and visitors to The Greens will not have to walk far to reach the station as a dedicated feeder public transport bus, number F34, will run between The Greens and the Metro station. The bus will also serve the Tecom commercial and residential area just behind the Desert Spring Village.
Thousands of people who live and work in this newly-developed Tecom area which is mushrooming with dozens of new high-end towers and hotels will benefit from this station on the Red line, which is scheduled to open on September 9.
A number of four- and five-star hotels, including the Grand Millennium and Media Rotana, have recently opened in the free zone area developed by Dubai Technology, e-Commerce and Media Free Zone (Tecom) Investments.
Residents and tourists can save money on taxi fare if they take the Metro using this station to reach destinations on Shaikh Zayed Road as well as in Bur Dubai, Karama, Deira and even Jebel Ali.
The new campus of the American School of Dubai (currently under construction) is also just a 10-minute walk away from the station while the Saudi German Hospital is also located nearby. Visitors to the Dubai Horse Racing Club can also benefit from this station if they use the Metro.
An air-conditioned pedestrian bridge has been built on Shaikh Zayed Road to serve passengers from the residential areas of Al Sufouh 2, Dubai Internet City, Al Nakheel Villas, Palma Spring Village, Cordoba Residence Villas and Dubai Knowledge Village, which houses the campuses of dozens of local and international universities.
